Asbestos found in Claire's Cosmetics

Consult with Dr. Riegel to learn more about testing for asbestos in your home

Alarming results reported asbestos found in Claire’s makeup products!!! Many young girls and teens shop at this store which is found in most major shopping malls.

The FDA claims that three products tested positive for tremolite asbestos: Claire’s Eye Shadows, Compact Powder and Contour Pallette. As a result, Claire’s have removed the products from their shelves. Dr. Riegel advises that you check your home for Claire’s cosmetics immediately. Asbestos-containing materials such as these could pose toxic and even deathly threats to your children! If you suspect medical issues related to these products, the FDA encourages you to report it to the adverse events reporting program.

Unfortunately, there are no laws requiring companies to test cosmetic products for safety.  Above all, as a Healthy Homes consumer, Dr. Riegel advises you must be very skeptical about the products you use on your skin and body. There are safe, non-toxic cosmetic alternatives for children and adults. Awareness and research of every product that you use is extremely important!
