EPA Bans Lingering Uses of Asbestos

Many people we talk to think that all asbestos has been banned and therefore it is not a risk. However, there have been ongoing uses and issues with regulating use well past the 1980’s. This includes industrial uses for water purification, automotive manufacturing, and even home building products. Dr. Riegel has done numerous studies with the EPA and engages with ongoing consulting for legal pursuits regarding asbestos.

A common mistake we hear from homeowners is that “My home was built after 1980, so there’s no way there could be asbestos in it!” Unfortunately, we have found asbestos in even newer built construction materials. As well, there is lack of regulation and lack of awareness on asbestos in older used products that may be still lingering in warehouses to this day.

There is NO SAFE LEVEL OF ASBESTOS EXPOSURE!

Asbestos is “Inconsistently inconsistent” and therefore when in doubt, and even when it might be so obvious, it’s paramount to test for asbestos.
