Found Mold, Asbestos, or Radon during Home Inspection?

This week on Thursday May 7, the real estate market in Michigan is opening back up. The Stay at Home orders have had a huge impact on real estate, leaving many buyers and sellers on pause for several weeks now. If you are purchasing a home, make sure you plan ahead for a complete and thorough home inspection.

It is very common for a “regular” home inspection to uncover potential areas of mold, asbestos, or radon in your home. Here at Healthy Homes, we provide professional and quick turnaround testing for moldasbestos and radon and many other environmental concerns to confirm these suspect findings.  Then, if identified, Dr. Riegel with 35+ years experience will make the safest, while cost effective and professional recommendations for remediation necessary to make your home a Healthy Home!

It is not uncommon to find mold in your crawlspace, basement mold, attic mold, bathroom mold, moldy closets, mold under carpeting, and more. Have your home inspector check any and all evidence of water damage for mold contamination. After that, call or text Healthy Homes for safe and proper mold removal.

Asbestos found during Home Inspection?

We also perform home inspections for asbestos, asbestos testing, and asbestos removal. Asbestos is found in many building materials especially if the home was built before 1970. Asbestos floor tiles are very common as well as asbestos ceiling tiles, asbestos popcorn ceiling, asbestos drywall, and asbestos piping, for example. The State of Michigan and EPA regulate the contracted removal and disposal of any asbestos-containing materials. However, not all asbestos needs to be removed. Found High Levels of Radon?

Some inspectors find elevated radon levels during home inspection. The EPA recommends that radon levels do not exceed 4.0 pCi/L. Dr. Riegel recommends levels 2.0 pCi/L or less.  We provide radon mitigation systems that are very effective and Healthy Homes guarantees our results. So, Contact Healthy Homes today!
